In a powerful physical dialogue, two young Black men explore deeply rooted, toxic masculinity. Whether the father is present or absent, this toxic masculinity is passed down through generations. Just as these hip-hop dancers share their experiences and lessons from both differences and similarities in this duet. Join them on a journey of discovery with their fluid, sometimes intense movements from both modern and hip-hop dance.

About Ibrah Jackson

The dance duet The Hereditary was created by Ugandan-Dutch dancer, director, and choreographer Ibrah Jackson. As part of Ghetto Funk Collective, Jackson’s roots lie in hip-hop, but the Rotterdam native is also well-versed in modern dance, funk, and African dance styles. Last year, he performed a preview of The Hereditary at Breakin' Convention in London.
