Anima Obscura is een indringende en schitterend vormgegeven multimediale voorstelling over het verlangen naar onsterfelijkheid. In haar eerste productie voor Scapino neemt artistiek directeur Nanine Linning ons mee op een emotionele reis, van de geheimzinnige praktijken van alchemisten tot de hedendaagse experimenten van biohackers. De dansers zijn hoofdrolspelers in de zoektocht naar het ene elixer voor het eeuwige leven.

Anima Obscura is a striking and immersive multimedia performance about the human desire for immortality. In her first production for Scapino, artistic director Nanine Linning takes us on an emotional journey, from the mysterious practices of alchemists to contemporary experiments by biohackers. The dancers take center stage in the search for the ultimate elixir of eternal life.

Anima Obscura is a monumental work of art for a large ensemble of dancers, where choreography, video animation, holograms, costume design, and music merge into a captivating theatrical experience. With her international artistic team, Linning creates breathtaking imagery that leaves no one untouched.

The performance features the majestic Ein Deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms, interwoven with a contemporary version by composer Yannis Kyriakides. Harpists Remy van Kesteren or Milana Zaric perform live, becoming an integral part of the choreography.

Internationally renowned artists contribute to this innovative production, including fashion designer Irina Shaposhnikova. In a massive video set, video scenographer Claudia Rohrmoser brings the latest technologies to life.

Anima Obscura is een monumentaal kunstwerk voor een groot ensemble dansers waarin choreografie, video-animatie, hologrammen, kostuumontwerp en muziek samensmelten tot een meeslepende theaterervaring. Met haar internationale artistieke team weet Linning in adembenemende beelden een wereld te creëren die niemand onberoerd laat.

In de voorstelling klinkt het majestueuze Ein Deutsches Requiem van Johannes Brahms, versneden met een hedendaagse versie door componist Yannis Kyriakides. Harpist Remy van Kesteren of Milana Zaric speelt live en is onderdeel van de choreografie. 

Aan deze vernieuwende voorstelling werken internationaal bekende kunstenaars mee, waaronder modeontwerper Irina Shaposhnikova. In een gigantisch videodecor brengt videoscenograaf Claudia Rohrmoser de nieuwste technologieën tot leven.
