Mimi’s Shebeen is een poëtische danstheaterproductie van KVS-gezicht en artieste Alesandra Seutin. Via dans, tekst, zang en muziek neemt ze het publiek mee naar de krochten van een gedeconstrueerde Shebeen* en op een reis vol leven, strijd, doorzettingsvermogen en vastberadenheid.

Mimi’s Shebeen is a poetic dance theatre production by KVS face and artist Alesandra Seutin. Through dance, poetry, singing and music, Seutin takes the audience into the depths of a deconstructed shebeen and on a journey full of life: of struggle, perseverance and determination.

Starting with the exile of South African singer Miriam Makeba, Seutin uses Makeba’s legacy as a political activist to convey stories of exile, immigration and humanity.

Mimi’s Shebeen will infuse the unique and unmistakable signature style of Seutin’s hybrid Dance Theatre. Lebo Mashile and Lisette Ma Neza provide the text, Angelo Moustapha and Zouratié Koné the music, and Tutu Puoane sings. in 


Geïnspireerd door de verbannen Zuid-Afrikaanse zangeres Miriam Makeba, gebruikt Seutin haar erfenis als politiek activiste om verhalen van ballingschap, immigratie en menselijkheid te vertellen.  
  
Mimi’s Shebeen vertoont alle kenmerken van de unieke stijl van Alesandra Seutins hybride danstheater. Lebo Mashile en Lisette Ma Neza zorgen voor de tekst, Angelo Moustapha en Zouratié Koné voor de muziek en Tutu Puoane zingt. 

LANGUAGE NO PROBLEM
In de voorstelling worden meerdere talen gesproken. Er is ondertiteling in Nederlands, Frans en Engels.
