Kunstenaar Nástio Mosquito is de special guest van het Feeling Curious? festival. Hij belichaamt alles waar het festival voor staat: radicale perspectieven, confronterend en een unieke blik op de toekomst. Tijdens An Evening with Nástio Mosquito duiken we samen met museumdirecteur Tanja Elstgeest in zijn veelzijdige oeuvre.
Mosquito is een multidisciplinair kunstenaar die performance, video, muziek en poëzie naadloos met elkaar verweeft. Zijn werk is rauw, uitdagend en vaak provocerend — maar altijd met humor en een uitnodiging aan het publiek om zelf te voelen en conclusies te trekken. Van intieme spoken word tot meeslepende installaties: Mosquito schakelt moeiteloos tussen concert, manifest en beeldende kunst.
Op deze avond toont hij film- en videowerk, leidt ons rond langs zijn installaties in het gebouw en gaat in gesprek met het publiek. Samen onderzoeken we thema’s als identiteit, macht, globalisering en de erfenis van kolonialisme, door de ogen van een kunstenaar die je uitdaagt voorbij logica en ratio te gaan.
Mosquito is a multidisciplinary artist who seamlessly weaves together performance, video, music, and poetry. His work is raw, challenging, and often provocative — yet always infused with humor and an invitation for the audience to feel and draw their own conclusions. From intimate spoken word to immersive installations: Mosquito moves effortlessly between concert, manifesto, and visual art.
On this evening he presents film and video works, guides us through his installations in the building, and engages in conversation with the audience. Together, we will explore themes such as identity, power, globalization, and the legacy of colonialism — through the eyes of an artist who dares you to go beyond logic and reason.
