746NESS (Shoness), Allyssa Lopes Fortes, Chavelly Lopes Fortes, Eleanor Boedhai, Rashwan Jogi, Risha Virginie and Xavira Latina present their work as part of rot•zooi. Within this project, they claim space to learn, to grow, and to reclaim what they are entitled to. The young makers are supported by leading artists, each working in their own discipline. Through a paid programme, they developed one personal artwork or object reflecting their fascinations, dreams, and life stories. rot•zooi stands for rotterdam zet omstandigheden om in (rotterdam transforms circumstances) and is an art project born from the ruins of the childcare benefits scandal. At the Kunstfabriek, they present their work to the public for the first time.

Binnen een betaald ontwikkeltraject, onder begeleiding van toonaangevende (Rotterdamse) kunstenaars uit diverse diciplines werkten 8 young creatives toe naar één persoonlijk kunstwerk of object dat hun fascinaties, dromen en levensverhaal weerspiegelt. Samen vormen zij rot•zooi en nemen ze de ruimte om te leren, te groeien en terug te pakken waar ze recht op hebben.

rot•zooi staat voor rotterdam zet omstandigheden om in en is een kunstproject dat is ontstaan uit de ruïnes van het toeslagenschandaal. Bij Kunstfabriek presenteren zij voor het eerst hun werk.

Het project is een samenwerking tussen Theater Rotterdam, Stichting Schouders Eronder en Reset Yourself. rot•zooi wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door een bijdrage van het Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie en de Gemeente Rotterdam, naar aanleiding van een aanvraag die tot stand kwam in samenwerking met tienduizend Rotterdamse jongeren.
