Over TRaces
Tijdens het gratis expo-programma TRaces nodigen we Rotterdamse kunstenaars, van opkomend tot gevestigd, uit om ons gebouw te gebruiken als podium voor doorlopende tentoonstellingen van interdisciplinair werk dat verbinding maakt met de stad Rotterdam en haar inwoners. De hal is de tentoonstellingsruimte waar deze uitgenodigde Rotterdamse kunstenaars hun sporen achterlaten. Is er een voorstelling in de grote zaal? Dan kun je voor aanvang, tijdens en kort na afloop van de voorstelling altijd binnenlopen tijdens de expo-periode. Van 10 maart t/m 9 april verwelkomen we AiRich.

Over de kunstenaar
AiRich (1991) is een beeldend kunstenares uit Amsterdam. Met een passie voor het verkennen van de grenzen van visuele kunst, creëert zij intrigerende werken die variëren van fotografie tot mixed media. Als kunstenares heeft zij de afgelopen 10 jaar nationaal en internationaal aan diverse kunstprojecten deelgenomen.

Haar werk is geëxposeerd in onder andere het Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, het Amsterdam Museum, het
Centraal Museum, het Nederlands Fotomuseum, Unseen Amsterdam en Photo London. Hierbij behoren haar installatie Bloody Gold – Hulde aan de Koloniën, haar portret van acteur Emmanuel Ohene Boafo en haar visuele ode i.s.m stylist Stefanie Blokland aan pop icoon Grace Jones behoren tot haar meest besproken werken.

Afrofuturisme speelt een centrale rol in AiRich’s werk, waarin zij zwarte individuen afbeeldt als krachtige, futuristische wezens. Geïnspireerd door mode, sciencefiction en iconische artiesten zoals Missy Elliott en Erykah Badu, creëert ze portretten die een toekomst verbeelden waarin zwarte schoonheid en kracht centraal staan.

About TRaces
During the free expo program TRaces, we invite Rotterdam-based artists - from emerging to established - to use our building as a platform for ongoing exhibitions of interdisciplinary work that connects with the city of Rotterdam and its residents. The hall serves as the exhibition space where these invited Rotterdam artists leave their mark. Is there a performance in the main hall? Then you’re always welcome to drop by before, during, and shortly after the show throughout the expo period. From March 10 through April 9, we welcome AiRich.

About the artist
AiRich (1991) is a visual artist from Amsterdam. With a passion for exploring the boundaries of visual art, she creates intriguing works ranging from photography to mixed media. Over the past 10 years, she has participated in various art projects both nationally and internationally.

Her work has been exhibited at, among others, the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, the Amsterdam Museum, the Centraal Museum, the Nederlands Fotomuseum, Unseen Amsterdam, and Photo London. Her most discussed works include the installation Bloody Gold – Tribute to the Colonies, her portrait of actor Emmanuel Ohene Boafo, and her visual ode - created in collaboration with stylist Stefanie Blokland - to pop icon Grace Jones.

Afrofuturism plays a central role in AiRich’s work, in which she portrays Black individuals as powerful, futuristic beings. Inspired by fashion, science fiction, and iconic artists such as Missy Elliott and Erykah Badu, she creates portraits that imagine a future where Black beauty and strength take center stage.
