Kunst is niet alleen zichtbaar in onze zalen, maar ook buiten, op de trappen, in de hal en op het plein; kunst is hier overal. Als interdisciplinair huis bieden we niet alleen ruimte aan podiumkunsten, maar brengen we ook verschillende disciplines samen in onze hal voor ontmoetingen tussen werelden en werken.

Over TRaces
Tijdens het gratis expo-programma TRaces nodigen we Rotterdamse kunstenaars, van opkomend tot gevestigd, uit om ons gebouw te gebruiken als podium voor doorlopende tentoonstellingen van interdisciplinair werk dat verbinding maakt met de stad Rotterdam en haar inwoners. De hal is de tentoonstellingsruimte waar deze uitgenodigde Rotterdamse kunstenaars hun sporen achterlaten. Is er een voorstelling in de grote zaal? Dan kun je voor aanvang, tijdens en kort na afloop van de voorstelling altijd binnenlopen tijdens de expo-periode. Vanaf 13 januari verwelkomen we vier jonge makers: Zena-Rae, Yaroslava, Martin & Polina

Theater Rotterdam door de ogen van...
TRue Story is een inhouse programma dat een uniek perspectief op Theater Rotterdam biedt door twee jonge creatieven. Gewapend met een fotocamera en een penseel zullen zij gedurende het theaterseizoen de magie, activiteiten én ontmoetingen welke zich binnen de muren van Theater Rotterdam ontvouwen, vastleggen, interpreteren én in beeld vertalen. Expo
Het programma culmineert in een mini-expositie. Publiek zal worden uitgenodigd om in gesprek te gaan met de jonge makers, waarbij ze de kans krijgen om dieper in te gaan op de kunstwerken en de verhalen erachter. TRue Story creëert zo niet alleen een artistiek perspectief op het theater, maar ook een dialoog tussen jong talent en het publiek, wat de beleving van ons meerstemmige en veelkleurige theaterhuis verder verrijkt en vernieuwt.

Art is not only visible in our theatres, but also outside—on the staircases, in the foyer and on the square; art is everywhere here. As an interdisciplinary house, we not only provide space for the performing arts, but also bring different disciplines together in our foyer, creating encounters between worlds and works.

About TRaces
During the free exhibition programme TRaces, we invite Rotterdam-based artists—from emerging to established—to use our building as a stage for ongoing exhibitions of interdisciplinary work that connects with the city of Rotterdam and its inhabitants. The foyer serves as the exhibition space where these invited Rotterdam artists leave their traces. Is there a performance in the main auditorium? Then you are always welcome to drop by before, during and shortly after the performance throughout the exhibition period. From 13 January, we welcome four young makers: Zena-Rae, Yaroslava, Martin & Polina.

Theater Rotterdam through the eyes of…
TRue Story is an in-house programme which offers a unique perspective on Theater Rotterdam through the eyes of two young creatives. Armed with a camera and a paintbrush, they capture, interpret and visually translate the magic, activities and encounters that unfold within the walls of Theater Rotterdam throughout the theatre season. Expo
The programme culminates in a mini-exhibition. Audiences are invited to engage in conversation with the young makers, giving them the opportunity to explore the artworks and the stories behind them in greater depth. In this way, TRue Story creates not only an artistic perspective on the theatre, but also a dialogue between young talent and the audience—further enriching and renewing the experience of our polyphonic and colourful theatre house.
