Escaping into a virtual world, a young Chinese-Dutch office worker collides with her dark alterego, unleashing a power that shatters the boundary between digital fantasy and reality.
By day, Ami (27) processes shipping invoices in a grey Rotterdam office. By night, she escapes into a virtual universe as MissButterfly, princess of a candyfloss kingdom where everything is perfectly pink and painfully sweet. But when she encounters a mysterious masked figure in the virtual world’s shadows, she discovers EmpressDragon666 – a darker version of herself who promises liberation through chaos. As pressure mounts in the real world – a domineering boss, the recent loss of her grandfather, her mother’s suffocating expectations – Ami finds herself drawn deeper into her alter ego’s web.
After taking a red pill offered by her digital doppelganger, the boundaries between virtual and physical blur in a hypnotic spiral of neon-lit nightclubs and forbidden desires. But as Ami’s grip on reality begins to slip, she must decide: Will she remain trapped in her perfectly curated digital dreams, or embrace the dragon’s fire burning inside her? A psychological sci-fi thriller that explores identity, power, and the price of authenticity in our increasingly digitizedexistence.
