Oud-deelnemers van RIDCC tonen hun werk op het Schouwburgplein

Niet alleen nieuwe talentvolle choreografen krijgen een plek tijdens de competitie. RIDCC presenteert RIDCC Brings Back: oud-deelnemers die zich de afgelopen jaren aanzienlijk hebben ontwikkeld en met wie RIDCC een sterke verwantschap voelt, krijgen een plek op het evenement. Dit jaar zal het choreografenduo Danae & Dionysios (XL Production winnaars 2018) terugkomen met twee locatievoorstellingen op het Schouwburgplein.

Napi, the girl and the bubble

In de middag zal het choreografen duo een voorstelling tonen die ook geschikt is voor jong publiek, Napi, the girl and the bubble. De voorstelling is geïnspireerd op de Japanse animatiefilm My Neighbour Totoro van Hayoa Miyazaki. In deze choreografie wordt het verhaal verteld van een fascinerende vriendschap tussen een meisje en een mysterieus, maar vertrouwd wezen. In het midden van een magische en echte wereld ontmoeten zij elkaar en begint daar de reis. Danae & Dionysios proberen met deze voorstelling het jongere publiek dichter bij dans te brengen door middel van spel en beweging.

De voorstelling voor kinderen vanaf 6 jaar is op vrijdag en zaterdag om 16.00 te zien op het Schouwburgplein.

Fάrιsa 

Om 19.00 zal het choreografenduo Danae & Dionysios een tweede voorstelling tonen op het Schouwburgplein. Zij presenteren dan hun nieuwste werk Fάrιsa. In Fάrιsa zie je twee personages die op zoek zijn naar verbinding en contact. Het stuk is namelijk gemaakt tijdens de pandemie en elkaar aanraken was toen min of meer verboden. In de voorstelling gaat het ook over de menselijke reis door het leven en onze relatie met dieren en de natuur. Hoe gaan wij hiermee om en hoe bouwen we relaties op?

Kom op vrijdag en zaterdag om 19.00 kijken naar het nieuwste stuk van de winnaars van de XL Production Award 2018. 

Tijdens RIDCC komen er talentvolle choreografen van over de hele wereld naar Rotterdam om hun duet te tonen aan een nieuw publiek. Tijdens de duetcompetitie zorgt RIDCC voor een verdiepend  programma voor de choreografen. Zo kunnen zij workshops, masterclasses, netwerkbijeenkomsten en coaching sessies bijwonen. De choreografen krijgen hierdoor toegang tot het RIDCC-netwerk.

Not only new talented choreographers will have a place at the competition. RIDCC presents RIDCC Brings Back: former participants who have developed significantly in recent years and with whom RIDCC feels a strong kinship will be given a place at the event. This year, choreographer duo Danae & Dionysios (XL Production winners 2018) will return with two site-specific performances on Schouwburgplein. 

Napi, the girl and the bubble

In the afternoon, the choreographer duo will show a performance that is also suitable for young audiences, Napi, the girl and the bubble. The performance is inspired by the Japanese animated film My Neighbour Totoro by Hayoa Miyazaki. This choreography tells the story of a fascinating friendship between a girl and a mysterious but familiar creature. In the middle of a magical and real world, they meet and their journey begins there. With this performance, Danae & Dionysios seek to bring younger audiences closer to dance through play and movement.

The performance for children ages 6 and up can be seen on Friday and Saturday at 4 p.m. at Schouwburgplein.

Fάrιsa 

At 7 p.m., choreographer duo Danae & Dionysios will show a second performance at Schouwburgplein. They will then present their latest work Fάrιsa. In Fάrιsa you will see two characters looking for connection and contact. This is because the piece was created during the pandemic and touching each other was more or less forbidden then. The performance is also about the human journey through life and our relationship with animals and nature. How do we deal with this and build relationships?

Come see the latest play by the 2018 XL Production Award winners at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

During RIDCC, talented choreographers from all over the world come to Rotterdam to show their duets to new audiences. During the duet competition, RIDCC provides an in-depth program for the choreographers. This allows them to attend workshops, master classes, network meetings and coaching sessions. This gives the choreographers access to the RIDCC network.
