Electronische dance heeft veel vertakkingen en varianten. Come on feet combineert dancestijlen van de straat en uit het clubcircuit met hedendaagse dans.

Come on feet begon met de liefde van de makers voor electronic dance music met al zijn subgenres. Footwork is een favoriet. Die muziek- en dansstijl ontwikkelde zich op straat in Chicago en heeft zich de laatste jaren snel over de wereld verspreid. Typerend is het snelle voetenwerk in battles. Granvat brengt footwork op het podium, samen met house- en afrodansstijlen, met live uitgevoerde clubmuziek.

In de voorstelling dansen onder meer Boule Mpanya, een Congolese danser/zanger die werkte met Alain Platel, en Samantha Mavinga, wereldkampioene house dance 2020. Choreograaf Quan Bui Ngoc is artistiek assistent van Platel. Samen presenteren ze de ontmoeting tussen de urban clubcultuur en hedendaagse dans.

Over Granvat
De broers Bert en Stijn Cools richtten in 2013 Granvat op. Ze zien hun collectief als een productiebedrijf en zichzelf als artistieke curatoren. Granvat richt zich in de eerste plaats op artiesten met affiniteit voor muziek, maar wil zich ook breder presenteren, door te flirten met andere kunstvormen, van beeldende kunst tot hedendaagse dans. Granvat strekt zich uit van minimalistische en akoestische soundscapes tot uitbundige elektronica, wereldmuziek en folk.

Electronic dance music has many variants and subgenres. Come on Feet combines dance styles from the street and from the club circuit with contemporary dance.

Come on Feet originated in the love for EDM (electronic dance music) and the fascination with bringing this wide-ranging musical genre to a live audience. Within EDM, footwork drew particular attention and kindled the imagination. Born on the streets of Chicago footwork's music and dance style rapidly spread around the globe. Typically, intricate dance moves focusing on the feet accompany the high-paced rhythms. On stage Granvat presents footwork, together with house and afro dance, as a dance style with live performed club music.

About Granvat
Bert and Stijn Cools are more than just brothers, they are soulmates. Together they founded granvat in 2013. The Cools brothers prefer to define their collective as a production company and see themselves as artistic curators. Granvat focuses in the first place on performers with an affinity for music, but also wishes to present itself more broadly. For them, flirting with other art forms – from visual art to contemporary dance – can only be an enrichment. Ultimately, granvat doesn’t limit itself to one particular style, the range extends from minimalist and acoustic soundscapes ('Book of Air series', Hoera.) to exuberant electronica and even world music or folk.
