Op een zonnige lentedag in Rotterdam, in de wijk IJsselmonde, proberen twee jonge jongens, Gush en Kevin, gewoon van hun jeugd te genieten. Na bijna te verdrinken in de Maas, komen ze weer boven, geschrokken, maar nog steeds lachend. Kevin past zich al aan bij de oudere, stoerdere jongens en groeit snel op. Maar Gush blijft dromen: hij wil astronaut worden. Wanneer zijn voetbal in de tuin van zijn eigenzinnige buurman, Gershwin, belandt, ontdekt hij dat Gershwin zijn toekomstige zelf is, teruggekomen om hem één laatste weekend kind te laten zijn, voordat het echte leven begint.

Guido F.G. Jeurissen (1992) is een Rotterdamse schrijver, regisseur en producent, en medeoprichter van productiehuis Rauwkost Film. Zijn films kenmerken zich door een expressieve, vaak rauwe filmstijl met goed doordachte cinematografie en production-design. Zijn meest recente film Toen Ik Klein Was, Was Ik Niet Bang (2025) werd o.a. uitgezonden op NPO 2 en zijn film A Little Less Ordinary werd geselecteerd voor de prestigieuze Gouden Kalveren op het Nederlands Film Festival 2022.

On a sunny spring day in Rotterdam’s IJsselmonde, two young boys, Gush and Kevin, are just trying to enjoy their childhood. After nearly drowning in the Meuse River, they come out shaken but still laughing. Kevin, already fitting in with the older, tougher crowd, is growing up fast. But Gush still holds on to his dream: he wants to be an astronaut. When his soccer ball lands in the yard of his quirky neighbor, Gershwin, he’s about to discover that Gershwin is his future self, back to give him one last weekend to be a kid before life takes over.

Guido F.G. Jeurissen (1992) is a Rotterdam-based writer, director, and producer, and co-founder of the production company Rauwkost Film. His films are characterized by an expressive, often raw style with carefully considered cinematography and production design. His most recent film When I Was Little, I Wasn’t Afraid (2025) was broadcast on NPO 2, among others, and his film A Little Less Ordinary was selected for the prestigious Golden Calves at the Netherlands Film Festival 2022.
