Roffa Mon Amour and Theater Rotterdam present cinema in the theater in a new collaboration. With an audiovisual takeover of our hall, Roffa Mon Amour adds an extra dimension to your night out. This new partnership will kick off with the Rotterdam documentary Queer Mercury (17 min).

In Queer Mercury, visual artist Erik Peters follows three members of the Dutch ballroom scene during their preparations for the Utopia Ball at Kunsthal in September 2021. The protagonists reflect on how the ballroom culture pursues a utopia by creating an inclusive space where all gender identities and expressions are welcome.

During this first collaboration with Roffa Mon Amour, film and theater come together for a magical overall experience. At 19:15, creator Erik Peters will have a talk about Queer Mercury in our Hal Theater. The film program is free to attend.

 

Roffa Mon Amour: Queer Mercury is a part of our Feeling Curious?-night and will be on prior to the performance C A R C A Ç A.

Roffa Mon Amour en Theater Rotterdam presenteren cinema in het theater in een nieuwe samenwerking. Met een audiovisuele overname van onze hal voegt Roffa Mon Amour een extra dimensie toe aan je avondje uit.  Deze nieuwe samenwerking zal worden afgetrapt met de Rotterdamse documentaire Queer Mercury (17 min).

In Queer Mercury volgt beeldend kunstenaar Erik Peters drie leden van de Nederlandse ballroom scene tijdens hun voorbereidingen voor de Utopia Ball in de Kunsthal, september 2021. De hoofdpersonen reflecteren op hoe de ballroomcultuur een utopie nastreeft door een inclusieve ruimte te creëren waarin alle genderidentiteiten en expressies welkom zijn.

Tijdens deze eerste samenwerking met Roffa Mon Amour komen film en theater samen tot een magische totaalervaring. Om 19:15 zal maker Erik Peters live in gesprek gaan over Queer Mercury. Dit gesprek vind plaats in ons Hal Theater. Het filmprogramma is gratis te bezoeken.
